A medical appraisal is an annual, structured review of a doctor's practice.
It supports their professional development, and forms the basis of the Responsible Officer's revalidation recommendation to the GMC.
Who needs one
Every licensed doctor practising in the UK
Every licensed doctor practising in the UK is required to undertake an annual appraisal and revalidate every five years, whatever the shape of their practice.
